Field Trips and Small Groups  

 

The Children's Museum of Lake Charles invites you and your class to explore the world of science, arts and humanities!

 

Museum Requirements:

  1. Field Trips can last 1 to 4 hours depending on group size. Please be on time.

  2. One adult for every eight students is required.

  3. All children must wear nametags, showing child's first name and group/teacher name.

  4. No gum, candy, food or drinks is allowed on the museum floor.

  5. NO running (Please enforce this.)

  6. A 24 hour notice of any cancellation is required.

  7. Please let the office know at the time of scheduling if you would like to reserve the party room areas for lunch or snack. Please clean your area when finished.

  8. Remember you are visiting a museum; review our Museum Rules with your group.

  9. Group rates apply to 10 or more people that are prescheduled and meet chaperone requirements. All groups are subject to approval by management.

 

Group Admission Price:

  1. Group rates are available Monday through Friday. (Group rates are no longer available on Saturdays.)

  2. A group consists of 10 or more paying customers and meets chaperone requirements.

  3. Groups must be prescheduled in order to receive group rate.

  4. All groups are subject to approval by management.

  5. $6.00 per person (including teachers and chaperones)

  6. Infants 23 months and under are FREE

        Please call 337-433-9420 to book your group early! Dates do fill up quickly. 

     

Chaperone Information:

  1. Chaperones must be at least 17 years of age

  2. Please read and ENFORCE museum rules

  3. For the safety of the children, it is important that the children remain with their assigned chaperone at ALL TIMES

 

Museum Rules:

  1. There is NO running!

  2. Clean up after playing in each exhibit area. Adults can help children learn good habits as well as good manners.

  3. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  4. Baby Bayou is for Toddlers and Infants ONLY. Children four years of age and older may not play in this area.

  5. Ask for help before touching any animals. Wash or disinfect your hands! Some carry Salmonella and others bite!

  6. Please keep your socks and shoes on at all times while in the museum.

  7. DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN THE EXHIBIT AREAS! No gum please! You are welcome to use our party areas when available. Please check with the office.

  8. Respect the museum. Discard any trash in trashcans. Let us know if any item is broken or out of order. We are happy to help!
