
Field Trips and Small Groups
The Children's Museum of Lake Charles invites you and your class to explore the world of science, arts and humanities!
Booking Your Field Trip and Other Notes:
Group Admission Price:
Group rates are available Monday through Friday.
A group consists of 10 or more paying customers and meets chaperone requirements.
Groups must be prescheduled in order to receive group rate.
All groups are subject to approval by management.
Admission is $6.25 per person, including teachers and chaperones.
Infants 23 months and under are FREE.
Chaperone Information:
Chaperones must be at least 17 years of age.
Please read and ENFORCE museum rules.
For the safety of the children, it is important that the children remain with their assigned chaperone at ALL TIMES.
Museum Rules:
There is NO running!
Clean up after playing in each exhibit area. Adults can help children learn good habits as well as good manners.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Baby Bayou is for Toddlers and Infants ONLY. Children four years of age and older may not play in this area.
Please keep your socks and shoes on at all times while in the museum.
DO NOT EAT OR DRINK IN THE EXHIBIT AREAS! No gum please! You are welcome to use our party areas when available. Please check with the office.
Respect the museum. Discard any trash in trashcans. Let us know if any item is broken or out of order. We are happy to help!
The city of Lake Charles has many beautiful public parks perfect for picnic lunches! Here are a few suggestions.
Millennium Park - TEMPORARILY CLOSED
900 Lakeshore Drive Downtown Lake Charles 337-456-7952 (3 minutes/0.31 miles)Shiver Me Timbers Millennium Park is 20,000 square feet and features a tower, train, plane, a multi-story Louisiana Hurricane slide and a tree house. Located just south of the Lake Charles Civic Center, the view of the lake is spectacular from the top of the tower! Park includes picnic tables under a covered pavilion. This park is next to the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Drew Park
416 Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive Downtown Lake Charles 337-491-1280 (6 minutes/1.25 miles)Play gyms, swings, a walking trail, picnic tables and shady oak trees. A recreational community center is available upon booking. The walking trail offers a pretty view of the lake. This park is located next to Christus St. Patrick Hospital.
Lock Park
Corner of Ryan Street and 7th Street Downtown Lake Charles (4 minutes/0.72 miles)Located at Ryan and 7th streets, the park offers a playground, shaded picnic area and playing field. This park is across the street from Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
Prien Lake Park
3700 Prien Lake Road Southwest Lake Charles 337-721-3500 (15 minutes/5.69 miles)Beautiful 29-acre park on Prien Lake featuring walking paths with measurement markings, canoe and boat launches, kids playground and SprayGround water park, numerous picnic areas, Amphitheatre, two pavilions and free Wi-Fi.
Adventure Cove Park
3200 Power Centre Parkway Southeast Lake Charles (12 minutes/4.73 miles)Adventure Cove is the first barrier-free park in our area, providing access to children of all ages and abilities to play together. This park is located in the Power Center on the southeast side of Lake Charles.
