JULY EVENTS

July 1: Amazing Thursdays – Gardening with Greengate

Do you have a green thumb? Join Daniel Chimeno of Greengate at 11 a.m. and learn all about plants. Children will participate in this hands-on demonstration!

 

Saturday, July 3: Red, White and Blue Day – Get a free American Flag

Celebrate 4th of July by wearing red, white and blue and get $1 off admission! Don’t forget to get an American Flag on your way out!

 

July 6: Crafty Tuesdays – 3-D Canoes

Design your own 3-D canoe using paint and markers. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are limited to 15 children.

 

July 8: Amazing Thursdays – Fishing with Maurice and Susan

Susan Melton and Maurice Fontenot from Bayou Country Outdoors TV show will share their fishing tips at 11 a.m. Children will participate and learn their best fishing spots, what bait to use, etc.!

 

Saturday, July 10: Sasol’s Second Saturday Science Show

Join us for a demonstration of magnetism and electricity perform by Sasol’s employees at 11 a.m. Learn “magic tricks” based on magnets.

 

July 13: Crafty Tuesdays – Paint Tissue Butterflies

We will paint beautiful tissue butterflies during this ArtSpace Workshop. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are limited to 15 children.

 

Wednesday, July 14: Popsicle Day

Summer is definitely here! Enjoy a delicious Popsicle on us!

 

July 15: Amazing Thursdays – Lowe’s Workshops for Kids

We will hammer and build different projects in this workshop given by Ms. Denise Jones, courtesy of Lowe’s. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and are limited to 15 children.

 

July 20: Crafty Tuesdays - Summer Fun Frames

Paint and decorate a frame in the ArtSpace Workshop. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and limited to 15 children.

 

July 22 - Amazing Thursdays:

Guzzy’s Gymnastics and Tumbling – 11 a.m.

Kids from Guzzy’s Gymnastics will demonstrate their amazing skills!

Taekwondo Demonstration – 2 p.m.

Master Carla Prejean and her Black Belt Academy, Karate for Kids, will give a taekwondo demonstration.

 

July 27: Crafty Tuesdays – Wiggly Creatures

Paint wiggly wooden snakes, lizards and fish with us in the ArtSpace Workshop. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and are limited to 15 children.

 

All ArtSpace Workshops are free of additional charge. Please sign up in the front office when you arrive the day of the event. Thank you!
