Photography Permission Policy

Periodically, the Children's Museum of Southwest Louisiana takes photographs and video of Children's Museum visitors and activities for use for promotional and editorial materials and grant requests. With admission into the Children's Museum, you give permission to the Children's Museum for the recording of photographs and/or video of yourself and your dependents. You grant the Children's Museum all rights to use these still or moving images for educational, promotional, advertising and other purposes which advance the overall mission of the museum. All rights to the photographs and video belong to the Children's Museum. Children are never identified by name.

The Children’s Museum of Southwest Louisiana, Inc. has procedures in place for the safety of our guests and staff. In addition to following guidance and requirements from the CDC and the Governor’s Office, we have also worked with local museum leaders from across our state. Please note the new safety measures and policies. Louisiana is still in Phase II of reopening. Hours vary with clean sessions in between open play sessions. We ask for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. Thank you!

We can't wait to see you!

If you have visited with us in the past, things may look a little different. We have made adjustments to our exhibit areas, which now feature a “low touch” or “no touch” learning experience.

Please respect social distancing guidelines. Capacity for exhibits is one family unit per each exhibit.

Here are a few reminders for when we do open:

Members and Non-members must pre-purchase tickets in advance. All ticket sales are final and cannot be transferred to a different session. Tickets must be purchased 1 hour prior to the end of each session. This is due to the current health climate and the requirement to manage our capacity.

Members may reserve tickets by clicking here.

Non-members may purchase tickets by clicking here.

The Toddler area and several other high-touch exhibit areas will remain closed.

At this time we are currently not booking any birthday parties or field trips.

We encourage you to leave personal items at home and carry the least amount of items/bags as possible.

The Museum does not have water fountains or drinking water available. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN. At this time, we will not allow use of any party rooms for eating snacks or lunch.

Federal guidance indicates that elderly individuals and those with serious underlying health conditions, including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, and those whose immune system is compromised such as by chemotherapy for cancer, might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.

Please read over our policies with your family before visiting. Click here for more information.

The Children’s Museum is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that relies on ticket sales, memberships, birthday parties and other sources to operate. This pandemic has put a great financial strain on especially children's museums and cancelled our busiest field trip season, making the impact all the more severe. It has also impacted our fundraising events and put a temporary hold on our summer camp programs.

We have taken immediate steps to put the organization in the best position to be able to re-open by incorporating a contactless ticketing system and timed play sessions with cleaning breaks before and after each. Things will be a little different but we cannot wait to see everyone’s smiling faces again. We ask for your continued support.

If you’re able, please help us keep the lights on. We remain hopeful that together we can continue our mission for the children and families of Southwest Louisiana for many more years to come. We will all get through this…TOGETHER!

Thank You to Our Annual Supporters!
