We are looking forward to our new home at Port Wonder!
This past year has been full of new hurdles and natural disasters for Southwest Louisiana. Unfortunately, the building that housed the Children’s Museum sustained catastrophic damage from Hurricane Laura. Regrettably many of our beloved exhibit areas did not make it and we were unable to return to our Broad Street location.
Our future looks BRIGHT!
On June 30, 2021 we joined the City of Lake Charles and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to officially break ground on our new location!
We cannot wait to move into our new home at Port Wonder, which will be located on the north side of the lake along I-10, in 2023!
We appreciate your patience and support as we work on our new location. We will be "spreading sunshine" throughout Southwest Louisiana in the meantime. You never know what community event or venue we might pop up at next. Please continue to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Please help us spread sunshine in our community and prepare for Port Wonder.

Our goal is to educate children through play and discovery while aiding in a child’s development and understanding of the world around them and encourage a lifelong passion for the arts and sciences. This includes exhibits, workshops, and other activities for the children's benefit.
We miss seeing you all and can't wait to share more details about our new facility. We will have more space to offer workshops, camps and programs that will allow children to explore, create and think about the world around them while learning new skill sets that will last them a lifetime. We will continue our mission and deliver year-round curriculum that engages kids in fun, interactive, hands-on activities that connect real-life and play experiences with learning!
