If you are interested in booking a group experience with the Children's Museum of SWLA or the LDWF Nature and Science Center, please click here to complete the request form. Please fill out all requested information. Once this is received, you will get a call from the Children's Museum to discuss request details. Please read through all of the information below to familiarize yourself with our prices and policies.

Field Trip Guidelines

Pricing – Admission for pre-scheduled groups of 10 or more is $20.00 per guest (applies to children and chaperones included in the group payment). Teachers and paraprofessionals are FREE with a valid school ID. Calcasieu Parish Public Schools are $19.50 per guest.
Cancellations – A 24-hour notice of any cancellation is required. Call 337-426-1559.
Chaperones – Each group must have one chaperone 18 years of age or older for every 10 students. Chaperones should help enforce museum manners. Other visitors may be here during your visit.
What to Wear – We ask that students wear color-coded nametags and/or shirts for each class. This helps museum staff/chaperones keep track of each group. Museum staff will also distribute wristbands at arrival.
Bring Your Lunch – Let us know at the time of scheduling if you would like to reserve the classrooms for lunch. We may not have tables and chairs for everyone, but this will give you a designated place to eat. Please clean your area when you are finished.
Arrive on Time – Please arrive on time. Other groups may be scheduled before, during, or after you. If you are running late, call 337-426-1559.
Unloading and Parking – Your bus should approach the museum using North Lakeshore Drive (the frontage road) heading east along I-10 east. Use the first entrance into the Port Wonder area. Visitor parking is located on the east side of the building and in the parking garage.
Announcements During Visit – Please listen to overhead announcements as they are made. This will make rotating your groups easier.
Nature and Science Center – Do not touch any of the glass aquariums in the Nature and Science Center. The Touch Tank area requires staff supervision. Children must wash their hands after exploring this area.
Gift Shop – The Petit Lagniappe gift shop offers a large variety of items and range in price from $2 on up.
