Saturday, November 2: Meet the Cowgirls
Don’t miss your chance to take pictures and learn from the Cowgirls! Join McNeese Women's Basketball Coach Kacie Cryer and the team from 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. They will host a special dribble workshop and talk to everyone about playing basketball at McNeese State University. They will also be signing autographs!
Monday, November 4: Toddler Play
Join us in Baby Bayou from 10-11:30 a.m. to play and explore with your 1-3 year old.
Saturday, November 9: Sasol’s Second Saturday Science Show
Sasol continues its 5S Project with “Magnetism” at 11:30 a.m. with presenter Joe Pawela. Demonstrations include static electricity, rare earth magnets, “Ferro-fluid” and magnetic magic tricks! Third floor exhibits will be closed during this program.
Monday, November 11: Veterans Day
Admission is $1 for all Veterans visiting with their families. Kids can create an American soldier in the ArtSpace workshop at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Classes are limited to 20 children, ages 3 and up.
Monday, November 18: Paper Bag Teepee and Homeschool Day
Create a 3D teepee using a brown paper bag. Class begins at 11 a.m. for ages 3 and up. If you are homeschooling, join us from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for a chance to interact with others doing the same. Admission is $6.50 per person for homeschooling families.
Saturday, November 23: Fall Crafts
Fall craft projects will be available from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Limit one project per child.
Monday, November 25: Grand Opening Sasol Program
Join us at 11 a.m. for the grand opening of our new Sasol Program area! We will have a special Sasol Science Show with presenter Travis Corbello and special treats!
We will also make a cute harvest corn project in the ArtSpace from 1:30-3 p.m.
Tuesday, November 26: Everybody is a Superhero
Join us at 11 a.m. as we discover the superpowers of our organs and eyes that help each of us be a superhero. This is an interactive and fun program that will engage children intellectually and physically as they identify organs and their function, experience the link between the eye and the brain, and learn eye safety tips. This program is brought to you by the Southern Eye Bank.
We are also making “Thankful Turkeys” in the ArtSpace at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Class is limited to 20 children, ages 4 and up.
Wednesday, November 27: Fall Wreath
Create a colorful fall wreath. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and are limited to 20 children, ages 4 and up.
Thursday, November 28 – Friday, November 29: Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving! We will be CLOSED.
Saturday, November 30: Holiday Crafts

The Children’s Museum provides a safe and educational place to explore, learn, play and imagine while encouraging curiosity and creativity through hands-on programs and exhibits. The Children's Museum is located at 327 Broad Street downtown Lake Charles. Museum hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Admission is $9 for children and adults.
